What We Do
The Semiahmoo Senior Robotics team competes annually at the First Robotics Competition where students get an opportunity to collaborate with other youth that have the same passion for robotics as them. The senior program not only allows students to be introduced to a more industrial form of engineering but also introduces aspects of business and marketing as they must raise over 8,000USD annually to build a fully functional robot.

Why Robotics
Robotics is not just a hobby, but a career. The students at Semiahmoo understand the unique opportunities presented by FIRST and STEM competitions and strive to learn as much as possible during these events. To us, these competitions are important stepping stones to a career in one of the fastest growing disciplines in our current world.

Women in STEM
Although STEM has traditionally been a male-dominated field, FRC team 6458 is a prime example of how women can be equally efficient and productive members of a technology-oriented team. Take a few moments to watch our interview with young women in our team that aim to have a career in STEM.
