FRC Team 6458 - Semiahmoo Robotics is a diverse team consisting of students from various ages, interests, and backgrounds, all with a common passion for robotics. Competing every year in the First Robotics Competition, we design a robot that can overcome the year's challenges, display gracious professionalism on the field and spread awareness of STEM Education within our local community.
The competition introduces aspects of business, engineering, and strategy as well, as the team attempts to plan and fund their robot. Last seasons robot, Apollo, was built over a course of 4 weeks after the team fundraised and designed a safe and effective robot that could compete in the challenge, First Power Up.
VEX IQ 6458 A/B
-Plastic Dinosaurs & Need4Speed-
VEX IQ Team 6458 consists of 2 teams: Plastics Dinosaurs and Need4Speed. Both are part of the Semiahmoo Junior Robotics program, where they ultimately prepare to compete annually at the VEX IQ BC Provincials. Members of the Junior Robotics Team are expected to design a robot that can overcome the year's challenges, all while understanding the fundamentals of robotics and engineering through hands-on experience with their VEX IQ Superkits.
This program prepares students for their future in the First Robotics program and is also a cheap and interesting way to introduce students to the world of STEM and show them the various ways this passion can evolve into a career.
